maybe that's not the problem though, maybe he just doesn't want to be in dallas unless it's a severly high overpay. did you ever think about that?

also your GM is a cheap ass doubt he pays robo more then 4x8

As a Stars fan, the fact that they haven't done it yet allows for the rumors to come in, and I'm fine with it. It makes no sense. They are sitting the young man out of training camp, and could potentially start the season either without him, or with him not up to speed with the team since he can't even practice with them. It's a really stupid move and I'm unhappy as a fan. The fact you say it's easy... well, if it was easy, why isn't it done? Nobody knows for sure, but I have to assume Robo wants term, while the owner looks at Benn and Seguin's contracts and doesn't want to do anything long term. You don't even need to trade Dobby to sign Robo to a decent deal. The fact it's almost October and he's still unsigned is very concerning, and the rumors and trade things are justified.

My point about it being easy is in reference to a few people I've seen saying "they can't fit him under the cap and, as such, they're desperate and should accept my weak offer". Rumors are justified, but vast undercutting offers are not.

Exactly! Just get rid of Dobby’s salary and it works.

Also look at Pettersson, Quinn Hughes and Brady Tkachuk last year, they took forever to get signed but it happened eventually.

Benn took his holdout into the season back in 2013 & Nylander didn't sign until December a few years ago. The "sky is falling" attitude by the majority of Stars fans is insane.

For your sake, here's hoping Robertson doesn't wait until the 11th hour in December like Willy did. Stressful for sure.

The Stars holding out because they shot themselves in the foot with Benn and Seguin is just ridiculous. Just look at the stats. Hintz and Pavelski at 5v5 have been fairly useless offensively without Robertson compared to when they play with Robertson. If anything, the Stars should be doing everything they can to make Robertson happy. I mean, he is just entering his prime, and is crucial for the Stars to have any success offensively. Robertson is only 23, whereas when Benn and Seguin signed their deals, they were both 27. The Stars knew the risk with giving them 8 year deals until they are 35, and they are paying the price for it now. The situation they are facing with Robertson is not even remotely comparable to the situation with Benn and Seguin.
