Could Dahlin work--

Created by: Tintin
Team: 2022-23 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 28, 2022
Published: Sep. 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bear in mind, Robertson is likely a top 10 forward in the league who just entered his prime.
I think the Tkachuk return should be the benchmark Sabres (or any other interested team) would have to meet.

Blueline looks a little crowded with Dahlin in it I'll admit, seems harsh on Harley not to have him in the lineup right away.
Though I suspect Suter may start to fall off in the not too distant future.
Besides, there's always gonna be injuries meaning Harley would see some action in any case.

it would be 1 for 1 if anything, they have no reason to add a good prospect, and tradinf miller after u just signed him isnt a good look

Dahlin might be the most untouchable player on the Sabres, except for maybe Power and Thompson

Dahlin and power sure. I wouldn't say thompson is untouchable.

Disagree, I love Dahlin but Sabres would have to add substantially here.
Also, didn't realize Miller was just signed by the Stars (and that he spent the previous three season in Buffalo lmao).

Seems like I managed fair value if both parties are unhappy then.

Thanks for confirming.
Obviously any sort of underlying reasoning or arguments are completely unnecessary.

I would love to see a blockbuster with this much youth involved, would generate a debate that would last a decade.

Which the league needs now that Subban and Weber are gone

Mm I don't know. Your argument earlier was JRob was an emerging top 10 winger entering his prime. I would argue Dahlin is an emerging top 10 Dman entering his prime.

I think the frame work for the trade is right there young elite offensive guy for young elite defensive guy.

It breaks down tho because sabres can only add to their talent right now. They are not in a position to be subtracting.
So in order to make a trade to get a JRob it would have to be for future pieces.
On the other side, I don't think Dallas is in a position to be offloading talent without direct replacements.
So I don't think this trade is really ever going to happen unless Dallas decides to rebuild
