There’s no reason to give up Formenton for free as far as we know

i doubt arizona does that, the picks are good but ur offering no prospects while dumping zaistev who would cost a second to dump imo, add greig or formenton in the trade and u might get a deal

He might, but he’s still under contract. No reason for arizona to give him up for that.

Arizona wants 2 firsts and a top prospect for Chychrun. Why would they trade Chychrun for a 1st, a 2nd, a bust, and some cap dumps?

2nd to get rid of zaitsev

Brannstrom still has value- is just under nils who got a 1st rounder.

Ostapchuk has a lot of value after his playoff performance last year and playing well at the WJC

    +another 1st

-Zaitsev has a 10-team NTC, I would be shocked if Arizona wasn't on it. I assume they're basically on everyone's NTC list (unless someone really wants to play in a 5000 cap arena again.) Also, judged by how expensive cap space was this summer, and how Arizona is a cap floor team that doesn't want to spend money, I think it's going to cost more than a 2nd to dump Zaitsev's 2x$4.5M.

-Brannstrom's value is much, much lower than Lundkvist's. Right off the bat, it's known that GMs value right hand shots over lefties, so that's one strike; strike 2 is that Brannstrom is no longer on his ELC the way Lundkvist is (so not exempt from waivers and due a new contract next summer); third strike is that Brannstrom has already been over in the US for 4 professional seasons and hasn't shown any growth in his game to becoming an NHL player. Most folks look past Lundkvist's struggles last year because it was his first season in North America (and fwiw most folks were surprised that the Rangers managed to get a 1st back for him.)

-Ostapchuk profiles as a bottom-6 winger who needs to work on his offense to raise his profile above that. Arizona is going to want one of your top prospects in a Chychurn trade, not a mid-tier guy.

-Dylan Gambrell adds zero value to this. Arizona has a half dozen Dylan Gambrells already, they don't need another.

It's a pair of 1sts and Ridley Greig if you want Chychurn. Mayyybe Arizona drops it to a 1st/3rd/Greig/Brannstrom, but that's if you're lucky.

Take out Zaitsev and the 2nd. Add Grieg or pinto and arizona might say yes

Ottawa says no politely and fills the role internally. Ask and get are 2 different things. BTW - I would not trade Pinto straight up for Chychrun.
