What is FLA adding to the trade? Why would ANA help them out by taking that anchor?

Anaheim has no need for Bob. They already have Gibson locked up long term and have Lukas Dostal in the pipeline.

Anaheim is just a placeholder team, as I said it would be any competing team in a desperate need for a starter that Bob would be willing to waive for, sorry for not specifying

No team is helping florida out without getting something in return. Bob isn’t waiving to a non contender and playoff teams can’t afford him

I also thought that but I've seen alot of trades with Bob from other teams on this website lately, so that's kind of my motivation for this

I think it’s near impossible to get rid of Bob at this point if not it would’ve been done by now. Between Bobs NMC and huge cap hit I can’t see anyone wanting him. The only teams that would take him right now are teams wanting assets for cap dumps. I think even half retained you have to add a first and then on top Bob has to agree to the destination. There’s only like 2-3 teams that could afford him half retained even so.

“Positive” is doing some heavy lifting there.

Bob is, if you want to be generous on his progress last year as a 33 year old, a starter on a President’s Trophy-level caliber team who struggled mightily with that same squad for two years prior. Plus, he still turns into a ghost come playoff-time.

Considering his age and the general voodoo nature of most Gs in the league, I would not want to be playing Russian roulette (no pun intended) with that contract. Even with retention.

Plus, with the cost to move cap these days? ANA, or any team, can and should ask for more.
