I don't think Dallas will trade Robertson but if they do that'd be a good offer.

If Dallas cannot sign Robertson, that's a very good offer. Robertson is better than Batherson BUT Batherson has tremendous value because of his cap hit. Batherson was the Senators best player last season, and played at a 30 goal/78 point pace. If Batherson was a free agent this season, instead of last season, he would get 8M minimum. Batherson is signed for another 5 years at 4.975M. On the same term, Robertson likely costs 3.5M+ more.

There is no way Ottawa can make that trade, it just doesn't work. They cannot move out Batherson and 3 ELC/non-arb RFA years of Pinto, and then pay Robertson the 8+ million he will be looking for on a similar term to Batherson. It's not a fit at all. It doesn't matter if Robertson is the best player in the deal, there is no way to make it work.
