-Insaaaaane overpayment for Korpisalo. for as rough as Murray has been over the past three seasons (.899 SV%, 3.06 GAA), Korpisalo has been worse (.896, 3.16). It also doesn't work because Columbus doesn't have the extra $3.3M to add Murray right now, but for argument's sake I think you'd only have to add a 2nd or 3rd to Murray to make this deal, and only to compensate for the dollar discrepancy. This trade would 100% make Toronto worse in goal *and* lose a 1/2/3 trio of picks.

-Feels fair value in this Sharks trade - Steeves is a prospect I like, the 3rd covers the retention, and Gaudette gets sent somewhere he can potentially get ice time. I think this is a win.

-Easy decline for the Coyotes - this is a classic quantity over quality deal. Kerfoot holds minimal value as a pending UFA for Arizona; even if we pretend Jake Muzzin waives his NTC to go to the desert, he actually would be negative value for the Coyotes - a rebuilding team doesn't have much to do with a 33 year old LHD. As far as the futures: Hirvonen & Knies are fine, but I'd argue that you'd probably cancel out Hirvonen's value to the trade with the negative value Muzzin brings. Amirov is still a couple months away from returning, so as cynical as it sounds, I don't think an NHL GM is going to give him great trade value until we see him in game action. And the 1st would probably be more valuable as a 2023 instead of a 2024. Just not enough for the Coyotes to move a guy they have no need to move.

Jackets accept before Kyle even finishes speaking.

It'd put us well over the cap again, so I'm not so sure.
