unless this is gonna be another one of those sign-and-trade things

Dude held out for months just to sign the same deal he was offered months ago, he should fire his agent

Didn't the Leafs make him this exact offer (identical to Liljegren) months ago and he declined?

After all the offer sheet bull****, injuries to half the Dcore, he signs the same deal offered to Liljegren.

This should have happened months ago, this was always the right deal for him. His agent, Gross, is a noodle.

Happy to have him in the fold. Leafs need him now more than ever.

Again, this is a guy who has not posted a five-on-five Corsi-for percentage lower than 52.41% or a scoring chances-for percentage lower than 52.66% in each of his three NHL seasons in addition to a five-on-five expected goals-for percentage of least 55.05% in each of his first two full ones.

Hey he’s finally signed!!!

I think this is a good deal. But I’m surprised he took it: they offered him this and he declined before. Happy he took it now. Only thing is the leafs are coming to have to trade someone at least before Lili comes back, probably before then.

Probably. However, even if all the Leafs injured players become healthy (with the exception of Liljegren) and are in the lineup, the Leafs can still fit under the cap.

Yes, barely, once Lili comes back we’re talking about like a 19 man roster. Trades are probably better to make sooner rather than later.

Why? He missed a few days of training camp in the end. What difference does it make?

Here come all of the Sandin haters who will now love him again because he got a contract.

It’s a great contract, and good for that second year. Even with the 1 mil cap ride, ever penny matters in this day’s NHL.

I said he was gonna give in and sign as all the leverage he had was pretty much gone

Only choice he had was sign or demand a trade and sit out but that wouldnt have done him much good

Either way glad he is signed now
