lol

In seriousness I don't want to think about playing against a top line where both Marner and Kane are feeding Matthews

Leafs don't have a scoring problem in the regular season, they have a defense problem in the playoffs... adding Kane doesn't get you out of the first round, he's no different than Marner, or Nylander. You can't depend on high scoring wingers to keep scoring at such a high rate in the playoffs, especially when they are smaller, and don't have anyone on the team to protect them, or give them space in the tight checking of the playoffs.

Best case scenario: he sacrifices himself for the team and waits until the playoffs to lace up.

Worst case scenario: Muzzin and Kerfoot are traded for picks.

Kane is a playoff performer. He's better than any winger on the Leafs. He will catapult any team he goes to into the conference finals at minimum imo.

Does Tavares have a hip to replace?

You realize that's just not how it works, right?

Leafs will at most inquire about Kane, they probably don't give up Knies for him, especially not with two upcoming 1sts, not unless they are getting another player with some term or team control that they want. The Leafs will probably be more aggressive in targeting RHD options to provide defensive depth which can be something that pushes a team over the top.

Why are you interjecting logic and common sense into a Leaf post. This has been the problem for 3 to 5 years and has not been addressed. If anything it has gotten worse. I am sorry but Murray is not the answer, if the question is what goalie can take the Leafs to the cup finals.

Toronto has built a team, a very good team, but not a cup winning team. They have great players, Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander and Reilly, but at the cost of a complete team. And until they realize it they will be and do the same every year.

yes, you missed it? but really at that point if the leafs win 2 round they will consider it a victory... and if you want to be even more serious about it, if you watched the colombus serie and montreal series, they had an offense problem, not a defenseman one.

but really its about depth, i really dont think the should go for kane.

This is too much for kane, remove one of the first round picks.

That said, rumor out of Chicago is Kane won't waive for Toronto
