If we sign Tom Wilson to 8M Dubas should be fired. Why is Curtis Douglas getting more than league minimum? More than ZAR with 0 NHL games?

My Theory is ZAR takes 850 now for 2 years then signs a 3 yr extension at 1 per after that Douglas does decently on the 4th line & gets a little pay raise, as for Wilson idk i like his play style & would love him on the 2nd line, If it’s that much of an Issue Willy can be signed for 8.5-9.5

Kings match that for Roy (actually I think he'll take a discount from that) unless we somehow get or develop an insanely good shutdown LD with some offensive flair.

I understand your Logic Jake but I can also see the average salary for an NHL Player going higher cause of the increased cap ceiling

Those are all offensive defensemen, which is why Roy is more valuable, especially since they moved Faber in the offseason. If Bjornfot or Moverare can be as good as Roy then maybe.

This is 2 years down the line, a-lot can happen, Byfield could become the star he was destined to be & demanding a raise + Mikey’s new deal, theres a lot of variables is what i’m saying

Oh for sure, but I think with Kopitar likely retiring at this point, the Kings might be a suitor for Matthews as well with so much cap space on hand.

I get that but if Byfield becomes what he was supposed to, Matthews isn’t playing second fiddle to him imo, Also I really think he Resigns in Toronto, Dubas’s negotiations are gonna be very easy “What do you want for 8 years”, This “Deal”
