Dallas easily matches that OS and all it accomplished was wasting everyone's time.

Offer sheets only go through when they're for way more than the other club can afford, or is willing to risk being stuck with, because the contract has driven into untradable territory. Otherwise, all they accomplish is bad blood between GMs, soured relationships with a player and the club, tied up assets while the process plays out and then if they actually go through - the prize is giving up a boat load of picks for an overpaid player.

I will never understand the fascination with offer sheets.

The only fun thing about an OS likethat would be to see Jim Nill under the gun in trying to make Cap Space in order to match.

So which of your $3MM players are you trading away to another team for noting to clear the cap space?

I will never understand the fascination with offer sheets.

Well, none of them are my players, I'm not a Stars fan, just someone who thinks offersheets are garbage and pointless.

As for trading players, Dallas doesn't have to trade anyone, as soon as Robertson is signed, Khubodin will go on LTIR, mark my words.

Dallas is not matching that. If they would match, there would be done deal already.

They 100% match that, but are trying to get him for less, which is why he isn't signed yet... it's simple negotiation tactics and as an RFA Dallas holds the cards, so of course they're going to try and sign him for less...

It's not that simple with Hintze and Gurianov waiting for their deals next summer.

But it really is, because that's a problem for next season and they can decide who they want to trade then.

He won't be "healthy", something will be tweaked and a specialist will say he needs to be shut down. If they can't move him, he'll end up on LTIR once Robertson is signed.

We've all seen this movie enough, how are people still surprised it happens?

Are you not aware that he played last night. Do you not realize that a player has to be on IR for 24 days in order to even qualify for LTIR. The Stars can not place Khubodin on LTIR even if they wanted to. Try again...

You obviously don't understand LTIR. They need to be EXPECTED to be out for 24 days, not already on IR for 24 days. A player can play right now and then be placed on LTIR at noon today if needed, they just can't return for at least 24 days once designated.
