Honestly it is the only team that makes sense.

Maybe Ottawa as well, but that’s if he’s willing to play the right side.

The problem is that he isn't very good in the right side. Certainly not worth the price. If you're paying a haul for chycrun it's for him to play in his strong side.

A sneaky team I can see as well is Carolina. They have the prospects and it will be an upgrade over Brady Skeji.

Turcotte isn't the hot commodity he used to be. The first should be 20+. I think it's at least close to fair.

Chychrun isn't the commodity he used to be. He's coming off a bad season, just had surgery and won't be available to start the season, and has publicly requested a trade. Even Dreger said today that the price is going to have to come down if Arizona expects to trade him.

This would be the Kings selling low on both Turcotte and Vilardi. They're not going to do that.

1st + Turcotte + Walker, otherwise the Kings aren't interested.

Chycrun was playing the right side. This is the price way down on chychrun. If Arizona would take that trade sure, but if they demanded more LA should be flexible.

Flexible means throwing in an extra mid-round pick or adding a long-shot prospect. Throwing in an extra blue-chip guy like Vilardi is not being flexible.

For example, if Arizona wanted a defenseman instead of a forward prospect, the Kings could include Durzi instead of Turcotte and the Kings would have to include another prospect like Madden or Thomas to make up for the difference.

1st
Durzi
Madden
Walker

Blue Chip???? Lol he's 23. I don't think you know what a blue chip prospect is. I'm not saying Vilardi is bad by any means. But his value isn't that high in trade.

Kings should not be throwing in Durzi at all. Kings have a massive log jam at centre. The RD log jam will be eased up by walker leaving this year and possibly Roy next season.

The Kings logjam at RHD is worse than at center.

Doughty
Roy
Walker
Durzi
Spence
Clarke
Grans

All except Grans are NHL ready. Durzi won't be on the Kings 12 months from now. Clarke makes him expendable.

I would trade Durzi (and Spence and Grans) before Roy. Roy is the only defensive RHD the Kings have in the organization.

I'd put significant money down that Vilardi will have a breakout season this year. He'll be good for 20g and 45p this season. Kings aren't going to trade him.

At least in year 1 with Ottawa he would almost certainly play the left side to shelter Sanderson and mentor JBD

I don’t think the cap math works for LA unless another team is involved or AZ gives back draft picks to offset the additional assets LA would have to give up to make this work. I just don’t see it. And I also agree that you’re overvaluing Chychrun. If this becomes a bidding war, LA would be out. This trade is no longer that big a need as it was before and I think LA should just stand pat until closer to the trade deadline when needs become more apparent.

The cap certainly works. I think the fit does too. Turcotte. 1st, walker and something else from LA. LA fans seem to be very high on Vilardi.

If "something else" is a B prospect or a mid-round draft pick, then sure.

Something around the value of a 2nd or 3rd.

I'd consider throwing in a 2024 3rd round pick, or a 2nd round pick if Arizona sends back an offsetting 3rd in the same draft.
