Given his cap hit, Myers likely gets a kulikov deal, his cap hit being gone is of much more value than the need for Anaheim (or similar below floor teams) to get above the cap.

The real salary owed is a nice perk, but its still 6 mil in cap space for a competing team.

Funny enough at first glance it seems bad for the Kings but both OEL and Doughty are overpaid by about 3 mil per. Both signed till 2027. OEL is two yrs younger though and has the lower cap hit. It actually isn't that bad of a trade. As a Canucks fan I wouldn't do it, and I'm not an OEL fan.

It'd probably be a fairer trade last year but Doughty was really good up until his injury and he's a big part of that locker room. I'd say the Kings pass
