Description
Not a Dallas fan, but with Dallas and Robertson approaching a crossroads, I thought I'd take a stab at figuring out the Stars' situation.

I think if Dallas is able to sign Robertson it'll be in the $8-10 million AAV range for an 8 year deal. That means someone from the current roster has to go, and I think Khudobin would be the guy, given the presence of Oettinger and Wedgewood. I chose Buffalo since they're looking to take a step forward and goalie is still a concern, so Khudobin might be a fit as another option. Another team like Arizona or Anaheim might work too. Either way, I hope this Robertson situation resolves itself soon.

Khudobin gets waived. Gurianov gets traded. That’s just what I think happens.

Don't see Gurianov leaving as of yet, Nill specifically wanted to give him the final chance of proving himself, hence the one year deal, and without Bowness limiting his play, he really has an opportunity to do it now.

Khubodin will go to LTIR the second Robertson is signed, mark my words. They're just holding off to maximize LTIR savings

Thats the trick with taking goalies as a cap dump. If they are healthy enough to play, but they suck, you've gotta find a place for them.

That might have been his intentions but signing Robertson should be the priority and if it cost Gurianov instead of a 1st that’s what will happen. The Teams that can afford Khudobin are mostly in rebuilds so I can see them trying to force a 1st from DAL.

Basically it depends on how much cap DAL can accrue by Dec 1st to get JRob signed. If they can’t hit the number they’ll have to do something they don’t want to.

Dallas has $8,5M of cap space to sign him for this year. It SHOULDN'T be a problem, once our owner just accepts reality as it is.

DAL doesn't even have a first to give out at this point, and I think a second will do. Total cap owed would have to be over $5M+ to make demands of first round pick, this has been proven during this offseason already.

I don’t think Khudobin costs a 1st to move but I think teams should try to leverage this situation to get it is more my point.
