Kakko will not play in the 1st line. He will most likely play on the 2nd. He’s not as good as Laffy who will most likely play on the top line. Laffy was the 1st overall pick. Kakko was the 2nd. It makes sense that Laffy should be on the first line. Othmann is not a top six player. Kakko will play on the 2nd line like I said before. Othmann has zero experience. Goodrow will most likely be on the 3rd line. Not the 4th. Chytil and Kravtsov need a veteran guy with lots of experience. Carpenter should play. I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far in the preseason. He plays on the 4th line with Reaves and Othmann. D is good but Jones will play instead of Hajek. He hasn’t proven and I like Jones more. Simple as that.

Based on camp/preseason & what Gallant has been saying looking like ...

Kreider Zibanejad Blais
Panarin Trocheck Kravtsov
Lafreniere Chytil Kakko
Goodrow Carpenter Reaves/Vesey

still think its an open race for that 3 LD spot for Jones & Hajek but both probably make the club out of camp.
I think Othman is going back to Flint (OHL) ....Maybe he sticks around early for the 9 games before his ELC loses its slide option .... but ultimately the kid needs to play top line minutes at just 19, for his longer term development.

I don’t want the kid line back together. Laffy and Kakko need to grow.

honestly, Rydahl looks more probable for the 4C spot than Carpenter atm

I don’t disagree with this, but this RW alignment compliment the linemates most. Kravtsov on that kid line is more deadly, and Kakko can carry the puck more on his line

Carpenter played for Gallant in Vegas, one of the reasons Drury brought him on board, Rydal is also waiver exempt & the feeling is it may do him well to get more games in on the smaller North American ice in Hartford, at least in the short term.

ha ha, my Bad.. i figured they'd keep him in camp until the final cuts, & a slight chance he stuck around for the 9 games before his ELC Slide year would be lost, if there was additional factor like an injury before they broke camp.

Same but I thought they might go longer and push for the 9 games to see

The Rangers are so dumb. Othmann should’ve made the team. Hell he was one of the better forwards in camp. At this point we’re wasting time with guys like Kakko and Kravtsov. Othmann was far more assertive and likely a better option than both. Guess there’s one thing I can count on this team to do and that’s ruin and mess up critical development decisions. The kid literally has no benefit to going back to juniors. Likely stalls his development. At the very least they should’ve played him a few regular season games to get that experience and send him down if needed. This decision was beyond idiotic.
