2023 1st round pick (completely unprotected). Or 2024 1st round pick (unprotected) and Caufield.

The likelihood of Montreal fans saying yes to either of those trades is indicative of how likely the Kings are to trade Clarke.

I mean, what's your thought process? "Hmm they'll need to get rid of one, it's obviously going to be their emerging star player who has the best chance of replacing Doughty and has a much higher ceiling than any of their other prospects! Yup, that sounds right!"

Not sure why the Kings would want to trade Clarke at all. They're just as likely to trade him as Montreal is to trade Slafkovsky.

I made this trade in 2024-2025 so you can't have a 2023 or 2024 pick.

Then, i chose him because he's the youngest and the less likely to already be in the rotation. My bad if i didn't understand his level of importance to the organization.

So, is there a legit top 4 offensive d-men that could be bought with a similar package that you'd be ready to let go?

Clarke comes with some concerns as a prospect. I wouldn't be giving up significant assets for him until he works out his skating and transition play.

Durzi and Spence will likely become available at some point. And would likely not cost the package you have there. But with your explanation of a "top-4LD", the Kings need that now, hopefully not 2 years into the future.

Are they activelly shopping for one now? i tought that anderson and bjornfot were enough for now.

If it's not too much how do you value spence and durzi?

I think it's safe to say the Kings have been shopping for a "young, dynamic LD with size" for the better part of a year and a half. There's a reason why the Chychrun rumors swirl so much around LA.

Spence I don't really think can be evaluated at a price just now. He's still waiver exempt and really only got NHL time due to injuries last year. I'd like to see him break into the roster on a regular basis before I form a value for him.

Durzi, I think, played himself into a 1st rounder territory of pricing with his play last year. Obviously not all 1st rounders are created equal, but I'd say a 22-26 type pick, if not a little bit more. I think his value is pretty high right now as an offensive defenseman with pedigree (even if it is small sample size).

I was going to write that having traded Brock Faber, Clarke and Helge Grans are probably out of the question, but Durzi or Spence ought to be available for the right (high) price, but my friend @PuckLuck_77 has already covered that subject more than adequately.
