If both of those college players sign then its an overpay. Portillo looks like he could be a legit starter or elite backup in the NHL, Johnson is a top 4 D lock.

You're entirely too high on POSSIBLE upside. Matt Roy is ALREADY a proven 2RD who has shown he can be a #1RD on a playoff team in the event of injuries. There's nothing here that stings for Buffalo to give up, and I don't view your unproven assets NEARLY as highly as you do. Which isn't surprising because that's the case of every fandom.

Besides, the Kings aren't weakening their roster anymore for futures, and Matt Roy is the best defensive defenseman the Kings have. He's safe through at least the end of his contract.

Fair enough. But just so you know both of those prospects are highly regarded in the hockey world. Its certainly not a trade without value. 100% agree though, Kings should not be moving Roy at all, he was stellar in the playoffs

Too much to Dallas. LA says no, too much uncertainty just to get Johnson and portillos names on a contract, that's without considering value. I think lybushkin goes for far more at the deadline, physical right d are just worth more.
