IMO Sabres should say no. Keep those "3 first rounders" and the goalie...and use that 8.5m spend on Roberson on a UFA next season.

Buffalo should say no. Giving up a great prospect in Quinn, another very good prospect in Krebs, a good goalie prospect, and to me at least a pretty early first in a stacked draft class. Better for the Sabres to try an offer sheet or stay the current course as they have a great future

Both? Buffalo is trading too much, but Dallas is trying to compete now

If Robertson would sign that contract it would be done…and thats in dallas. Seven years in buffalo is 10.5 minimum.

Really? Krebs was drafted 19th, Quinn drafted 8th in 2020 just starting his NHL career, plus the 2023 pick.

They are players. Not picks. Subjective vs objective value. The second a player is selected, its no longer a pick.

I’m a bruins fan - there were times when they could have offered six players taken in the first round and the package would have been worth next to nothing.

There are alot of people on here who make claims and are completely wrong but, I have found if Pahal says something he is generally always correct.

You may think they amount to nothing, but he is correct, Krebs and Quinn were both taken in the 1st round and if you include the 2023 1st round pick that is 3 1st round picks.

Completely agree, he actually watches hockey games and does not believe everything the sport writers post!

I never said they amount to nothing. I said they aren’t picks. That is objectively true.
Saying this trade is “three firsts,” just isn’t true.

Tampa could offer kucherov, point, and cirelli. Is that just a second and two thirds? No. Thats three incredible players.
Boston could offer Frederic, Zboril, and Beecher. Is that three firsts? No, of course not.

We use draft picks for trade value because its objective value. Not subjective value.

It’s a tax thing dude. Texas has no state tax. New York has high state tax.

https://www.capfriendly.com/income-tax-calculator

A 10 million dollar salary in dallas gives a player a take home of 5.928M
A 10 million dollar salary in buffalo gives a player a take home of 5.224M

That’s a pretty big difference over 7 years.

Also, guys making potentially 8 figures don’t want to live in buffalo.

First, he put it in quotes
2nd, those young players still have 1st round value

But go on, feel free to nit pick
It’s very impressive

You’re saying he put it in quotes and accusing me of nit picking? Seriously?

Bc putting something in quotes implies not to take it literally

This is a semantic argument and there is no winning here
