Next Year Real chance

Created by: Woody
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 30, 2022
Published: Sep. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let me know your thoughts... Can trade Reilly instead of Grz however must put 4.5 towards 37 & 46 bonuses next year. Both could be gone... Would be smart if Don could dump Foligno or find a way that their bonuses go towards this years cap. Want Lysell with 37-63 for the experience, however he can swap with JD. 37 should for sure return and if 46 has fun he'll come back for sure. If one doesn't McLaughlin swoops in and either Zacha, Stud, or Beecher plays for the center who leaves.

Zacha did not bet on himself to sign that. He could have had close to that this year has he taken a longer contract. It will depend on the kind of season he has of course. But i’m expecting him to price himself beyond that.

That won’t get Mayfield.

Lysell is not starting on first line. He will take Smiths 3rd line role.

My gut feeling is this will be DK final year. Bergy will be 50/50.

Bergeron and Krejci have basically said they're retiring after this season.

Mayfield is already making $1,450,000 out on Long island, No way in hell is he taking less to play in Boston.

No thanks. We’re not paying 3.6M for a 5’9 defensemen. We need someone bigger, 3.6M keep in mind will put us over the cap. I rather give up our 1st, Walker, and elite prospect for a solid LD defenseman over Grzelcyk any day.

They have in no way shape or form given any such indication. You made that up.

Are you kidding? That’s such a steal. Top four d man at under $4M for nothing.

That trade is an abomination for boston.

Like mentioned. We don’t need a 5’9 defenseman. We need someone with more grit. Our defenseman mostly lack in size.

Then they could flip him for 10x this return.

We don’t need to flip anyone. We need to win a championship.

I’m pretty sure I do. My point is we’re not getting him to flip him. This isn’t NHL 22. He’s not a player we want on our roster. I don’t say that because he’s not a good player, he definitely is, but he’s lacking in size. We need a bigger stronger D-Man. We ain’t gonna acquire him just to “flip him”

The point is if a team is offered a trade where they’re coming out so far on top, by many many multiples, it helps short and long term, and doesn’t hurt the cap short or long term - they take it. Because duh.

Boston isn’t giving him up for a 3rd + 4th so I totally don’t understand your argument dude.
