Thoughts on bubble players...

Holtz - has looked good on Hughes' wing thus far. I'd still like to see him with Hischier and Bratt at some point, but he has earned a spot.

Mercer - Has looked okay so far in pre-season. His roster spot isn't really in doubt, but he could be a player that moves down to AHL on paper at times for space.

Tatar - Has looked better than last year, was even wearing an "A" last night.

Johnsson - Our most likely veteran to end up on waivers. Just don't see where he fits in anymore.

Boqvist - If not Mango, it will probably be Boqvist. Kept him for bench for now.

Zetterlund - too valuable to pass through waivers. Could see top-6 minutes some nights, be healthy scratch other nights.

DEFENSE

Graves -- Severson
Siegenthaler -- Hamilton
Okhotiuk -- Marino

Bahl - Has looked a lot better in pre-season, but is someone who would be better served on Utica's top pairing. Still needs work on puck skills. Still a little nervy.

Nemec - Could easily make this team out of camp if we needed him. But will likely be destined for AHL season and slide year.

Okhotiuk - Was noticeably the best of the rookie options and brings elements of game Devils need. Has been NJ's most physical player in pre-season. I think he starts at 3LD.

Walsh - same boat as Bahl. He was supposed to lead PP last night, but NJ didn't get a power plays.
