Would really depend how he plays this year. If he is around a 0.910 or better, I can see him being worth something for sure. I chose Buffalo here as a potential option as they don't have a legit goalie YET. They would have Comrie next year still. I assume Luukonen will still be around and possibly Devon Levi (who I am very excited about). This would just give another option if no one shows they are capable this year. Arizona could be another team.

You made 3 posts for the same bad trade?

Why not? He's certainly worth much more than he was a year ago. The Sharks paid a 2nd for the older and much less competent Adin Hill

Hopefully Levi is the guy, upl is pretty inconsistent, and we have the kid from Michigan, portello, who probably walks away from us next summer. Plus we just drafted a guy that was supposed to be the top rated goalie in the draft. Young goalies are straight voodoo. This is just my idea of the goalie market- almost no goalie gets a first, so you end up with decent veteran goalies that return a second. Vladars resume seems light for a pick that is likely around pick 40 (give or take).

Bad in your eyes - sure. I had to show that the trade does work for all parties for this year and next. Although it is tight on the Calgary side.

Definitely - Vladar would need to have a good year this year to be worth that. I assumed he would in this agm. I really hope Levi turns into something special for you guys. His numbers over the past 2 years blow my mind. I have never seen anyone with numbers like that before.

I like your posts normally because you take a factual approach. At the time of the trade: hill 25 YO 49 games .909 S% and 2.74 GA.

Vlader currently 25 YO 28 games .906 2.75.

Age is the same, NHL stats similar. Most thought it wasn’t a great deal at the time for the sharks and them trading him for a fourth less than a year later speaks to that.

Now Vlader’s A numbers are better, but playing in the Boston and Cgy A affiliates vs the Coyotes affiliates probably should be taken into consideration.

All in all, he’s a fair comp, but it was viewed as not a good trade for SJ

I get your POV here and that's a very fair argument, I guess I though Hill was 27 now so my mistake on the age part. Regardless I think it's also fair to say Vlad had a very solid rookie season and will likely continue to show improvement this year. Hill was technically in his 3rd season as a back up (due to constant goalie injuries on AZ).
