You forgot Klingberg retention, no one's giving us a 1st unretained. (Also cap floor, but solved with retention)

Shatty won't waive for Canada

I guess a 6th is worth getting a month or two look at Drouin to see if he's worth giving another shot to. I've heard a lot of his mental issues come from being a francophone in Montreal, maybe on a small market team he can get it together.

Not sure I see the reason to use retention on Grant, but if no other options comes along to use it, sure.

I think we get more elsewhere for Klingberg half retained

I’d take a 2nd for Shatty but he has said he won’t go to Canada

I’d gladly give a 6th for Drouin and get a 5th for Grant

Only way Detroit does this is if they have a hell of a year and are for sure going to the playoffs, but even then it's a long shot since Yzerman will want a piece of that deep 2023 draft. Maybe a 2nd and some prospects

On what grounds? A perfect depth piece Swiss army knife player at league minimum for a 5th? That's cheap insurance for a deep cup run.

Ok but at the TDL he will have roughly a quarter of cap hit left then retaining 50% of that would be just under $1M. By no means am I saying Anaheim should do this. I think Detroit's 2023 1st will be somewhere between 8th and 12th so I'd be upset i they traded that for a 30yr old dman.

Detroit passes, we're not giving up a potential top 10 pick in the deepest draft in recent memory for Klingberg.

Shatty won't waive for any Canadian city. He made that abundantly clear when he was playing in St Louis.

The rest look okay i guess.

MTL does that if Drouin ****s the bed, otherwise you'll have to pay more. A 6th does literally nothing for anyone ever.

I forgot to retain my fault and also shatty then will be traded to Carolina for maybe like mettheos and a 2nd so their bottom defence can be

Coghlan/ De Haan and Shatty

The way I see this happening is their battling Ottawa for the playoffs and they think klingberg is what they need for the playoffs so they hope the pick is in the 15-20 range
