Description

These salary dumps are by far more than easy to understand but I’m not going to explain everything in detail right here in the description but my point is a lot of people are taking these cap dumps far too out of the logic of current cap dumps

Trades

Zack Kassian
2022 1st round pick(29th overall pick)
2024 3rd round pick
2025 2nd round pick

EDM

2022 1st round pick(32nd Overall pick)this one is purely a pick swap between Edmonton and Arizona.
It’s the 2024 3rd round pick and 2025 2nd round pick that’s the dealbreaker for Arizona to take Kassian. I’ve been hearing too much of “It CoStEd A fIrSt To MoVe KaSsIaN” and yet ignore the fact Arizona sent a 1st to Edmonton. If it costed them a first to move Kassian then Edmonton shouldn’t have gotten a first in return. Instead they swapped 1sts as Edmonton had no player they wanted to pick at 29 so they traded down. It literally happens all the time.
To say the least the 2nd and 3rd is what it took for Arizona to take Kassian. SO SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND.

I’d imagine they wanted something in return for trading a higher draft pick which is why they still ended up acquiring a young defencemen.

In the Bryan Little trade, the main piece in the move (other than Little) was center prospect Nathan Smith going to ARI. The 4th going to WPG was just a bit of ballast.

Ty Emberson is pretty chalked up as a nothing prospect and I’d bet a decent amount of money that the rangers won’t tender him a qualifying offer at the end of the year. Also as for why the Coyotes traded him rather than doing a future considerations trade is because it clears a contract spot for Nemeth in the trade.

In the Little trade the Coyotes got Nathan Smith who was the main prize.

As for the Kassian trade they got a 2nd and 3rd which was Market Value for taking on his contract and they moved up 3 spots in the first round. It’s a win win. That trade needs the least amount of explaining lol.

The Edmonton trade equates to roughly a 2nd and two 3rds. A bit steep but I think the spread of the pucks offsets that.

He’s played nhl minutes and contributed in those minutes compared to Ty.

10 games of experience really isn’t enough games to prove anything. He was also one of the Coyotes first cuts from training camp.
