Why is our top paring Defenceman scratched?
Why is our best defensive forward scratched?
Why are we giving up Quinn for Kane?

This is not good at all

Vegas can hold that 3rd hostage all they want. I bet they'd ask for a 2nd minimum.

Easy no from Buffalo on the Kane trade. Not giving up 2 good prospects and 2 top 60 picks in a deep draft for a rental we might not be able to sign much longer than 3 or 4 years (if he re-signs at all). This would hurt the team and would be felt for years.

How about a 2nd round pick? Then you turn around and trade him for a 3rd the same day. A 2nd and a 3rd for absolutely nothing doesn't sound good?

It doesn’t cost a 2nd to trade 2 mill. It cost Dubas like 10 spots in the draft to trade 3.5 mill.

Sabres need that 3rd to make an offer sheet. It's arguably one of the most valuable 3rd rounders in the league if that was the course they wanted to make and I am sure they have inquired. Vegas can extort the hell out of Buffalo for it, and it should be a consideration as an offer sheet might be the best move. Moving a second and a fourth (or something) to get the 3rd to make an offer Dallas can't match? It's not an unwise move but Vegas holds all the power.

I don’t disagree but Mrazek was the worst goalie at 3.5 and he traded 10 spots in the draft. So I repeat it won’t cost that much to move Holl.
