I’d rather have Boeser at this point. Real mistake Vancouver made this off season was signing Mikheyev instead of a d man. But maybe that was part of how they got Kuzmenko?

Boeser has more value than Severson, and Dermott has more value than Johnsson. Canucks decline

The Devils are going to be extremely hesitant to A, take anyone back for Johnsson, B, add a left handed defenseman to their logjam, and C, take Boeser if Garland is an option. Swap in Garland for Boeser, I'd think about it.

IF (and it's a crucial IF) the Canucks could negotiate a good extension with Severson beforehand, I think Severson would hold more value than Boeser at that point.

If it was Garland sent instead of Boeser, I think VAN would still want to send another contract along to help make up for the following year's salary discrepancy. Garland has a sweetheart deal and Severson's extension will be in the 6m+ range.

The Devils consider it if it's Garland. They don't if it's Boeser.
