The usual " teardown" theory. But teams certainly don't have the cap to take on players and giving up high picks. Most trades have to be virtually cap for cap trades. And why would so many of these teams which are probably non playoff teams, trade for players who will be UFAs in one year?

this ain’t franchise mode lol chevy can’t be aggressive in FA because no big name players are willing to sign in Winnipeg. even bottom sixers are signing elsewhere for less money

I could see the wild being interested in Scheifele but there would have to be a extension in place to give up those kinds of assets.

      Is this a joke?

Teams that go full tear down, Then don't sign players like Bo Horvat to 7 years @ $8,500,000 and Matt Dumba to 7 years @ $7,100,000 they tend to go after top prospects in the draft and build up their young core through the draft.

Zero chance i see Kevin Cheveldayoff trading Mark Scheifele within the division, And i doubt Scheifele would even waive for the Wild.

The biggest laugh is Blake wheeler to Seattle, Wheeler has a 5 team trade list. And i can guarantee you Seattle isn't on his 5 team trade list.

Schmidt and Stanley don't return no 2nd round pick, You'd be lucky to get a 3rd and 4th round pick for them.

And no team is giving up 2 1st round picks for Pierre-Luc Dubois, And if Cheveldayoff is in tear down mode. He's looking at picks now. Not 3 years down the road.

Yup this is definitely something that only happens on NHL 22 franchise mode, Real life it's laughable.

If you are tearing down for a rebuild, why are you trading away a 19 year old first round selection?

Minnesota declines. They aren't paying, trading for a diva to be on their team. So they will keep their 1st round pick and top d prospect

Hmm brilliant go aggressive in FA. 22 Colorado 20&21 bolts 19 blues 18 caps 16&17 penguins 15 Hawks none were "aggressive in FA" teams that are "aggressive in FA usually loose

Only way they can tear down would be some cap dumps coming back, no ufas coming to speed it up, going to retool a nucleus through the draft, and if you start it’s probably going to have to cut deep and back to lambert/perfetti and completely centered on jets drafted players and team control. Possibly a season away, but management and ownership would be way to freaked out to do it right, so a foot in both camps and probably end up bubbling until it frustrates the fanbase to its wits end. But go jets go

Haven't read all the comments on here, but seriously, this have to be the weirdest trades I've seen in a while. Not to mention the FA signings.
It's like a randomizer was used to determine the team to trade with and the return for each player, and missing the mark every time.
