The Leafs have a logjam at LD and a need for cheap depth scoring. Positionally makes zero sense for us

Pierre-Olivier Joseph is going to hit waivers, so that's a no.

I think the Leafs want to see what Robertson can do at the NHL level before they entertain trading him. Hopefully he can stay healthy long enough to get a proper evaluation.

Toronto has 0 need for another LD

They got

Rielly
Muzzin
Giordano
and
Sandin

Besides Robertson has the higher ceiling and is younger

Why would the leafs trade Robertson for anything less than a package for a critical roster piece with a long term deal…think Chychrun package type deal.

Chycrun really doesnt work either as hes a LD who yes can play RD but as it stands now Toronto has for the first time in a while enough proper Dman

Like a left side of Rielly, Muzzin and one of Sandin or Gio is nuts and the right side has stable Brodie, a growing Liligren, and sure an offside Sandin or Gio but hey for the third pair who cared

7th Dman is anyones guess rn

If Robertson was to go it would potentially be in a Kane package (Risk of rental yes or potential for a 1 year Pavelski like deal the following year so why not)

You made my point - Chychrun was an example.

You won't get a real return for someone you are about to flush through waivers. Probably looking at a a 4th-5th round pick as a high.
