I don't think the Devils should be trading away first round picks.

Don’t think Robertson would sign that contract considering the term. For a max deal he is easily getting north of $9 mil

I really like both players a lot but bratt and a first (devils first) for Jason is a ton. I get the long term vs short term with Bratt but not something I would do as the devils.

Maybe Bratt+Severson+a 2nd but NJ wouldn't add one of their own 1sts.

We have no problem adding picks. It’s the inclusion of Bratt that we would object to.

I doubt Dallas will just want a ton of futures, and NJ would start to run out of cap space fast. Dallas won't take a 1 for 1 with Robertson goal scoring ability. I'm just assuming here that Severson may not get extended, so if that's the plan then it wouldn't hurt to give him up on top of Bratt for a player like Robertson even if it is an overpay.

I’d rather have Bratt, Severson and pick. Besides, NJD wouldn’t do it until next summer, when we have a ton of cap space….so timing would be off.
