That seems like a lot for Robertson. He’s a great player but I don’t think you that much

I can't believe Dallas screwed this up this much, sure they have time to make it right, but Robertson has to be unhappy with the way they're handling this. Dallas can overpay for Marchment, Suter, and Faksa, but they can't find the right deal for Robo? Bad, bad look.

laugh Talk about a massive overpayment for Jason Robertson.

And Nashville has less salary cap than Dallas, They don't have $8,000,000 in cap space to spend on Robertson.

I think he would be a good fit for Nashville

We're talking Jason Robertson here not Connor McDavid, That's way too much going to Dallas.

Perhaps he is the perfect fit for the Preds, But it still remains that they don't have $8,000,000 in cap space to sign him. They've roughly $3,000,000 less than Dallas right now.

Though I don't think Robertson has much leverage, you're right, some players seems to the "cap scrape goats, due to the previous non deserving contracts. Seems to happen every year on many teams.

I think he has plenty leverage. He was the Stars leading scorer by a wide margin and players that produced less (Stutzle, Thompson, even Jack Hughes) all got paid. I don't see how Dallas wins in this situation.

Sure his absence is likely to hurt Dallas on the ice. But unless there is an offer sheet coming (unlikely) Robertson's only options are to accept a Dallas offer, play in the SHL, or "retire" from pro hockey for a year.
Comparables aside.....if Dallas does move from their offers, there doesn't seem to be a way for Robertson to get this year for "what he deserves" in $$$ or term

Can't imagine Nill trading him to a division rival, or for a full on rebuild offer. Dallas always tries to compete, dude.

I would love robertson in Nashville. I just dont see it being possible without similar cap going the other way. Nashville has less capspace than dallas. Even then 3 first round picks plus is a pretty steep price.

This is a STEEP price for Robbo.

Numb it down to a 1st, Lauzon and Kemell and that would be more than I'd be willing to pay for him.

Either way, Nill doesn't trade to a division rival for rebuilding assets.
