Isles would have to take that imo. He makes them a contender.

Agreed! I can see this trade being good for both parties. Isles keep all their prospects and have the top 5 protection on both picks. Winnipeg get a solid player in Bailey and 2 first rounders to help the re-tool/re-build.

Sheifele is over a point per game centre on a good contract for this year and next. He will cost a lot. I see him being a great addition to LA. LA could give up prospects instead of picks. They have a ton of those as well.

Why would LA have any interest in Mark Scheifele? It's not like they don't already have Center depth.

1C Anze Kopitar.
2C Phillip Danault.
3C Quinton Byfield.

Lousy return for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Plus i doubt the NYI can afford to offer him 8x8 next summer.

Once again Blake Wheeler has a 5 team trade list, And very few players actually want to go to Edmonton.

Scheifele would make it
1C Anze Kopitar.
2C Mark Scheifele
3C Phillip Danault.
Quinton Byfield on the wing or in a package to get Chychrun.

How is 2 x 1st lousy return for PLD? And yes New York can offer him 8 x 8 next summer.

As for Wheeler and Edmonton. I can see very few players actually turning down a chance to play in Edmonton. They are a legit cup contender. That makes a huge difference in terms of players No Trade Clauses. I don't see anyone turning down a chance to go there right now.

Because Bailey sucks and it would cost at least 1 of those 1st round picks just to move him, Let alone another single 1st. It's a lousy return and the NYI don't have 8x8 to offer him next season anyways

Why does LA of all teams want another center?

Danault was the best player on the Kings last season (Kopitar included). They're not going to relegate him to 3C already.

They easily have 8 x 8 to resign him next year : https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3683986

Bailey doesn't suck, he is just a 4m player making 5m.

I thought PLD was bound for Montreal...

(Can he even speak Long Island?)

There is a chance he goes to Montreal for sure. Probably be a package of Dvorak, 1st (top 5 protected), Mailloux, 3rd round pick. Something on those lines to get PLD.

He doesn't suck, Then why couldn't Lou get any takers for him? Reportedly GMs were wanting a 1st round pick to take him. When Lou was trying to sign Nazem Kadri.

And you haven't proven anything Wahlstrom will get more than $2,000,000 per and good luck thinking that Seymon Varlamov is signing for only $2,500,000 per.

there is still a ton of cap flexibility on this roster for specific contracts. It's impossible to predict a Wahlstrom contract now. Varlamov can easily get more, so we will see. But there is room on this team that I made for adjustments in that regard.

Maybe...

Schefeile --> Boston or Colorado
Dubois --> Montreal
Schmidt --> Florida, Anaheim
Wheeler --> Ottawa, Detroit

The kings trade can possibly happen if it's just 1 1st round pick.

I don't see the isles doing that trade as it makes no sense considering Dubois has said he wants to play in Montreal.

I also don't see the oilers doing this trade either, just doesn't make sense to me personally.

Kings have no need for Sheifele with all of their center positions set. There not going to move Danault down to 3C making 5.5 million a year. Besides, they don't have the cap space to make deal in the first place.

Absolutely correct. To which I can only add, we also have Gabe Vilardi, Alex Turcotte, Rasmus Kupari and other prospects who can either also play the position this season or are coming up. Arvidsson was a key element of our team this past season and those two first-round draft picks will come in handy.
