If he gets at least 20 goals he’s worth that contract. He would have had 20 in both of his first two seasons if he didn’t play 4th line minutes.

Wouldn’t you say it’s a better bet to give a young player who’s entering his prime 5 mill than declining vets like Palmieri , Bailey, and Pageau?

JP is not overpaid, I assume Wahlstrom will get 20+ goals this season if he gets 15-17 min TOI so it’s a good bet
