debrincat’s getting 9.5 i’d think, if robertson gets an 8 year deal this offseason that’s prob the best comp for him

I feel like 8 x 8 would have been fair for Barzal. 9 x 8 for Debrincat would be good for both sides. (the contract you listed would absolutely be fair as well).

Got to keep in mind the cap is going up so if he waits until the offseason the price will go up a bit. Proper way to do that comparison is using cap %s. Average cap % of those players when they signed their deals is 11.05%. 11.05% of an 82.5 cap would be $9,116,250 or $9,226,750 for an 83.5 mil cap.

Gee, at the cap with 20 man roster. I like the Sens young players and prospects but next year is cap issue.

We have 15 million to sign pinto and Sanderson we're ok. If Sanderson gets 9.5 snd pinto gets white 4.75 which is both high right now we would have some cap space and grieg to replace Giroux once his deal is up the following year(24/25)

By your post of the 23/24 roster....,it's a 20 man roster with no cap. Hardly a workable lineup.

yes and no. Zub would be the one to trade but a replacement will cost you a decent amount since you'll need someone with talent since the D depth on the right isn't good. You could trade Joseph, Forsberg, and/or Talbot but then you're not creating a TON of cap space when you have to add in a replacement. And again, you're not adding a lot of skill for the price either.

Btw saw the game tonight. Damn it Cat looks good. unsure

How so?

That's a completely fair contract for Barzal, and Kaprizov is easily underpaid.

I mean, you could argue it was too much to give someone with only 55 games of NHL experience at the time. But Kaprizov was literally on pace to hit 40 goals and 80 points in just his rookie season, so he got paid 40 goal scorer money last year.

Now look at him, 47 goals and 108 points at a 1.33 PPG pace. He should be making $10M+, easy.
