Why would you pay the Stars for Benn? They are in a bind, they can pay their way out of it.

He’s not just available, the stars would kill for someone to take him.

Take out olofsson and krebs, and send a first from dallas to buffalo and the Sabres are still getting absolutely robbed.

Benn's fall from grace has been epic. Buffalo does not do this, unless Skinner goes the other way. Even still.

This is totally, 100% a fair trade. Don't let anyone tell you anything else. This is completely even on both sides. Heck, Dallas will even throw in Ryan Suter just to make sure that it's even more fair for both sides. Yep, totally even trade. Not slanted either direction. Very good ACGM trade. 5 stars. 2 thumbs up. 10/10 rating.

I don’t think it’s a full on bind. Stars prepared for a bridge deal. Robertson wants the big deal. Stars have cap space for a bridge deal. If Robertson wants to play he’ll take the bridge deal. While I do think moving cap and giving him the big deal might be the smart move long term, I can respect Nill not wanting to use assets to move cap out for a young player coming off his ELC. If you give a mouse a cookie… Wyatt, Stank, Bourque, Nils… they all gunna be looking for a glass of milk too when the time comes

uh, you realise that Olofsson had more goals and more assists in 10 less games and makes almost 4 mill less than you have Benn here for...right?

The gm would personally carry benns luggage from his home to airport. Literally the buffalo airport not even the Dallas one if you guys did this.

Benn has quite negative value

Skinner has a CAREER year? He had a solid rebound year, but it wasn't a career year.

His contract still sucks as it was too much the day it was signed.

He tied a career high in points. You all want to think it sucks but hes barely over paid and he isnt affecting Buffalo negatively at all. Hes one of their off ice leaders too and always has a positive attitude which helped the kids last year and will moving forward. The league can hate him and his contract, but he has a ton of value to Buffalo and is doing all he needs to here

Baffling

He matched his 63 pts, true, which he's done 4 times now. But he did not get paid for points he got paid for his goals. And his high water mark is 40 goals (his career year getting him this contract) followed by 37 goals. This is his second time getting 33 goals. So a good season for him but not a career year.

You can try to argue this point, which is a distraction from the actual point, but even then that one stat (goals) does not determine what makes it a career year. Hes not a cap dump

You have a different point than me. My point was disagreeing with you that last year was a career year. It was not. That is MY point, so it isn't distracting from MY point.
