Sabres decline
Don’t want Jost, and ZERO CHANCE we’d pay a 2nd for him

I understand the thinking - but if they pulled something similar to Tampa where you either accept this trade or go on waivers, Minnesota seems a lot better of an option than Montreal

NMC means it can't be placed on waivers or even demoted to AHL

Oh - so that is only NTC's where they can threaten that?

Which piece? Because DAL is going to have to pay to dump cap here coming up so I am under the assumption that you are talking the BUF deal?

So Dallas is paying a 2nd to swap from a P/GP all star who is an amazing veteran presence and a terrific playoff performer for a 3rd liner…

Why would Dallas do that?

Well that is just god awful for Dallas.

I can't recall the last time a team was forced to pay to dump an 80 point guy. In fact, I'm fairly certain it's never, because it makes no sense at all.

this is a horrible deal. at worst I could see them move Khudobin and a 2nd for cap space but Pavelski is one of their best forwards and leaders. and is on a cheap 1 year deal for them.

PPG player making 5.5 mil on a 1 year deal. if they aren’t in the playoffs i see them moving him but for a healthy return.

Someone should let him know that only Leafs need to pay to move good players.

Yes exactly. If he keeps up his current performance, we have every possibility to receive a Giroux type return for the guy.

1) They wouldn't.

2) Even if Robertson gets resigned and you needed to move out cap, Pavelski ain't the guy Dallas would move out because you'd only need to move out a couple of million at most since the Stars currently have $7.8M in cap space left. If Robertson gets paid somewhere between $8.5-9M that isn't too much over the cap line.

One of Faksa, Glendening, Miller, or Khudobin likely packs their bags long before Joe ever gets asked.

They may have to pay to move someone out.

But it for sure as hell isn't going to be an 80 point player making $5.5M and just so happens to have a NMC.

They have multiple plenty of options to move out before they ever consider moving out Pavelski.

I fully expect him to regress at some point soon. but even is he regresses to 20G 50p (which is a substantial drop from last season) he is still worth his contract and adds that valuable leadership and mentorship ability. i could easily see a similar package, especially if you guys retain on his deal.

at 37 he likely isn’t a 80 point guy this year… but should still be a 50 point guy. still I agree he is one of the last guys i see them moving.

Exactly, but I highly doubt the Stars will be in a position to retain once they resign Robertson though.

Agreed, but any trade is going to have to go down before cap compliancy takes effect on the 11th, regardless.

So he still technically is a 80 point guy until the season starts. 🤷‍♂️
