unless he takes a step this year, that's an overpayment, and even then it's risky. I think it'll be closer to 8.5

In light of the Barzal extension, I think you are very accurate with that contract. Could see an AVV of $9.5, but what is $500K in Detroit right now?

If we just up and signed him 2 months ago like we could have it probably would have saved us a million dollars off that number. Now it's 9 million to start no question.

I get points aren’t everything and he’s really important, but I’ve got a hard time believing he is worth $9 mil plus. Makes the Rangers signing Mika at $8.5 mil actually see somewhat more reasonable.

What's 500k in Detroit now? Nothing. What's 500k in Detroit in a couple years once Raymond and Seider get extended? A lot.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Fair point. I think the bonus for the Wings here is his contract is up prior to the BIG JUMP. That $500k in two years would have tripled.

Larkin likely gets the cute $8.71M aav it's fair for both sides .. Much as I like EVERYTHING about Dylan let's not make him out to be yzerman fedorov datsyuk .. He's likely 80pts tops type player & not an elite defender (yet) .. So while he is IMPORTANT & itd suck to lose him in trade etc he's not vital if he wants to play hard ball with yzerman.... I think he's smart enough to take that number ballpark to be redwing (for life maybe)

In todays market Dylan Larkin gets 9m. In todays Market Fedorov, Yzerman and Datsyuk in their primes are north of 11m. He's getting paid what he's worth.

Betcha Larkin isn't superstitious Sidney Crosby and doesn't give a damn about having his cap hit match his number and would rather just be paid his worth.

NOT about superstitious or crys-baby cap hit in pit... He'll take a lil under market so he can be surrounded by good-great players $8.71 is a fair number period..hes not being lowballed at 5 or even 7.. It's a solid number for 80pt prob max player.. It's in the ballpark & again it's fair.. Go argue elsewhere 👋 💋

I got a feeling that he'll sign for 8 years/71 mil and if I did my math right that comes with a 8.875 cap hit.

Instead of have 71 as part of his cap hit, but if ya just made the entire contract worth 71 mil, over 8 years it has a 8.875 cap hit.
