I guess the only question would be do the Jets think Dvorak and Hoffman are fair value for their collective five years? If so, could be a deal. IMO the Jets should not make the deal though.

We would get a better offer for PLD as a 2year rental to a contender with a return that would suit our needs better. No thanks

I think Florida unprotected first headed for lottery, and that dman going to have a healthy chip on his shoulder for duration of career, it’s a gamble, but there is a need to strengthen top 9 over a stacked top 6.

I’m gambling Florida regresses into a lottery team in a stacked draft, and mailoux keeps a rather large chip on his shoulder for the duration of his career. Hoffman possibly good bad or otherwise for room, and dvorak might be needed to ease lambert or perfetti into a Center role. It’s a gamble for sure.

HABS are in a rebuild and at this point are only looking at getting picks. They are so bad that at this rate we should have the next 2-3# 1 picks.

Slafkovsky needs at least 2-3 years of development to make the NHL. He is slow, out of position has no instincts. He looks lost on the ice at the NHL level. He needs to mature 2 years in the AHL.

That being said. NO Deal

We should have drafted Shane Wright!!! OMG what a mistake!!!!

Sounds like Dubois starting to change his tune on Winnipeg also, so possibly a big contract and a leadership role ahead. My bottom out tear it down dream is headed for a double down on current and blast away hopefully. See how it goes, squad does look like a team on a mission, hopefully starts strong and continues

Fair enough, conversation starter anyway, have the habs found the heir apparent in net yet? Interesting squad ahead, would be nasty if they missed on one, haven’t seen him play yet, going to see bedard tonight, and danielson projected 8/9, probably a couple interesting players going forward.

I believe PLD said what he said to get some leverage with the Jets with a new deal. All smoke and mirrors with the HABS. Kind of what Aho did when he signed the offer sheet with the HABS, he forced the hands of the Canes. He is a great player

They got a good goalie in Allen who signed for another 2 years but not a goalie to take you to the playoffs. That is another hole they need to fill and they have nothing great in the minors. It`s time for them to us one of their 1st rd picks to get a great goalie prospect.

Enjoy watching Bedard. You should start a thread tomorrow and share some insight

Saw Winnipeg ice vs Brandon wheatkings in the opener, benson ranked 8th I believe is going to be a nice add for somebody, little light, but good wheels and hands, last guy off the ice, and looks hungry with a good attitude. Danielson big body center, not completely sold on hands yet, but looks like he likes to muck around and get to the tough areas. Bedard all world as far as the tv says anyway. I’ll check in see what the hype is about.

I thought for certain that bedard was going to be somewhere between a Crosby and a point, but also showed some flashes of kane and kucherov on the wing, not sure what he is going to end up as, but definitely going to be must see tv. I don’t believe I saw one of his better games, just getting off the bus from a 4 hr ish bus ride, and looked quite frustrated going back to the bench. So holds himself at a high level of excellence, couple assists in a 3-1 where they got outshot by a ton. Big league shot all ready, ready to mix it up, but small, and thought he was a little faster. I believe he is next one, Crosby can pass the torch

That is good to hear. The last thing you want to see is a kid going back to the bench with his head down.
