Other than LTIR magic, I don't see how the Leafs are gonna do this without moving Kerf.
Anybody care to hypothesize?
I think it's going to cost Toronto a pick or prospect to move him. The teams with cap space have no need for a rental player and the teams that might be interested don't have any cap space either.

I guess we'll see.
I can totally see a team with cap space buying low on someone they could flip at the deadline.
Kerfoot is also the exact kind of player you'd want around a rebuilding team with young players. He is a relentless worker.
Leafs might end up keeping him if the Leafs can pull some LTIR magic.

Maybe if he was on waivers a rebuilding team would pick him up, but I can't see why a rebuilding team would give up anything for a pending UFA.

I'm almost leaning towards it being Engvall now. He's cheaper and probably easier to trade, but still enough to fit in a 21 man roster. But a Kerfoot trade probably makes the most sense.
More than anything, why does M NTC Kerfoot have Arizona on his trade list in his UFA contract year. No way he agrees to go to poor team with cap.
I don't think its "more than anything", literally just picked a random team.
"More than anything", I'm wondering how the Leafs are going to get cap compliant.

It happens all the time.
Its not a rental. Its a full year.
They can flip him at the deadline for more, there is value in having a player like that in a young inexperienced lineup.

I would say by gong by cap logic.....yeah Kerfoot is the guy to go.....unfortunately
