Lambert doesn't play more than 9 games. Then he gets sent to the AHL and forms a duo with Lucius. Have Lucius as the top line center and Lambert as a right winger.

The roster looks spot on. I would swap Apple and Saku.

Fourth line should be Saku, Gus, and Gagner.

After Lambert gets sent down put Apple in his place.

Hopefully Berdin plays the last preseason game. I would like to see how he does.

Glad to hear Lambert is doing well.

(Had him #5 in my pre-draft rankings…guys who skate that well don’t come around often).

It's funny cause he looks like a strong skater to the naked eye

He *is* a good skater...a great skater. That's why I had him in my top-5.

I agree with the Lambert take. It's been a great story but the best thing for his development and for his contract is to be with the Moose, like you said, playing top line minutes with Chaz.
Where is Samberg on your D? I think he's gotta be there. Also, Ive always like Sam Gagner and Im impressed with his play so far. Not saying he should be any higher in the lineup, but having him on the PP and being a right shot skilled player should help.
Also...where is Berdin???

If Lambert is a centre....he has play big minutes in the AHL instead of been stuck behind the Jets centre. But really he should be at the AHL anyway, and getting use to North American ice and style of play.
I wouldn't put too much stock in how a player performs in pre season., playing against AHLers, and even non AHLers.
But happy for the Jets and Lambert if this 30 pick overall turns out to be great value.

He's a natural Center, but he's been playing RW all pre season. He's looked sharp there, especially playing with Perfetti on the other wing. He made some incredible plays with a 4th liner in Toninato as his Center last night and Calgary iced an almost entire NHL roster. That said, you're absolutely right he should be in the AHL playing big minutes. But i do think he deserves a couple games in the NHL in the Reg season to get a more thorough evaluation against more NHL talent. If he pans out, he might end up being the steal of the draft at 30.

NHL scouts before the draft projected Lambert as a RW.

I could definitely see Lambert sticking around. If this type of play from him continues onward into the regular season, then the Jets should keep him. But more than likely he will play with the Moose. I don't think he will go back to the Liiga.

I don't think the Jets would be willing to put Harkins on waivers just to get 9 games from Lambert. Maybe Lambert would be an injury call up.

Could they waive Toninato instead and bring him back up once Lambert's 9 games are done? I can't see many teams having interest in Toninato, as opposed to Harkins.

My comment was more a reflection on Cheveldayoff's risk aversion more than anything else. I think Toninato has actually had a better camp than Harkins so if they lost Harkins it wouldn't be a big deal. Both have low cap hits so they might be attractive for another team needing cheap depth due to injury.

Edit: I guess he could send down Barron and spin the story of Barron just coming back from a training camp injury to save face.
