Getting Weird 2.0

Created by: Kuch813
Team: 2017-18 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2017
Published: May 26, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. TBL-DAL - TBL sacrifices this year's 1st round pick, and swaps players with the same remaining term, while taking a backup at 50%. Saves DAL $1M in cap space for this season.
2. TBL-CAR - TBL trades former 3rd and 10th overalls for two former 5th overalls. TBL upgrades defense and CAR gets a game-breaking forward. (Not sure if TBL adds something here?)
3. TBL-MIN - TBL swaps a player with term for a player with less term. Saves MIN $1.15M in cap space.
4. Vegas takes Brown in expansion draft. (They could potentially take one of the other bottom-6 forwards, or maybe Coburn or Garrison.)
- 1-Year - Garrison and Lehtonen contracts expire when Hanifin, Lindholm, Namestnikov, and Erne need re-signing.
- 2-Year - Pominville, Stralman, and Coburn contracts expire when Kucherov, Point, and Dotchin need re-signing.
- 3-Year - Johnson and Palat contracts expire when Vasilevskiy and others will need re-signing. (One or both will be traded before then.)
- Other tough moves will be necessary if Kucherov continues on his trajectory toward a Benn contract.

I couldn't imagine the Dallas trade, why would they take Callahan and why would Callahan waive his clause? Carolina fans will be pissed to see that trade, since Koekkoek is worth almost nothing. The Minnesota trade is awful, killorn would be taken in the expansion draft for nothing as a worst case scenario. Those contracts for palat and Johnson may be a little low.

Hopefully they take our 4.5M 30-pointer. I mean we know how Kuch feels about him. The Johnson Palat contracts take them to UFA at 29-30 to cash in. Just messing with different scenarios. Why don't you post what you think the contracts and off-season will look like.
