This is why they signed Dylan Strome. If they need another, they probably want someone who costs less to acquire.

IMO can never have too much Centre depth and Strome is a solid option on the wing as well.

Severe overpay by Caps. Scheif is really overrated, one of the worst defensive centers in the league. Would much rather have Strome at $3.5M and keep my assets. Plus Caps are stacked at center. Off the bat they have Kuznetsov-Strome-Eller-Dowd with McMichael and Protas that can play center as well (they're actually better there), and Lapierre in the wings.

The mid to late firsts are nice, but unlikely Winnipeg considers that.

I agree, plus caps fans hugely overvalue mcmichael... he is at the very best of his potential a 3c in the nhl.

Price is way too high. I think Winnipeg would be looking for a center that's a bit more likely to stay down the middle long term than McMichael also
