How about signing Bernier to a two-year around $1, 000, 000 deal to play backup for Andersen?

No. Can't you remember how brutal was in Toronto? Constantly being scored upon early by weak goals. Johnny Bower still lives town, I'd rather have him. There are dozens of better fits for the Leafs than Bernier.

True, other top options are Kinkaid and Condon. How about Condon to a 2 year $1300000 contract.

Would be interested in Kinkaid, posts decent numbers. HOWEVER I could also see TOR targeting a Halak, Lehtonen, Niemi and receive compensation for taking their contracts

Possible, but Toronto is going to be hard pressed against the salary cap pretty soon.

Those are all goalies with 1 year left on their contracts future cap wouldn't be a worry.

I guess, but Niemi is garbage, so maybe Lehtonen.

I think we bring in a backup like Kinkaid, and that's really the only big move that we make. A lot of people think we sign Alzner, but Babcock loves his lefty-righty defense pairs, and we already have Reilly and Gardiner pretty much locked into our top 4. Zaitsev should continue to progress, Carrick and Marchenko can do well in our other two pairs, and we'll be set. I do think we resign Boyle, maybe we bring in a third pairing guy to compete with Marchenko. We lose Marincin to expansion, and draft a defenseman (Foote if he's still there, Hague if he isn't). Not a whole lot of action, and I don't think we need it. I think we have everything we need all set in stone at this point, and I really think we'll have a Cup by 2019, maybe 2020.

Three things on Toronto's to do list:
1. Trade van Riemsdyk for Hamonic or de Haan and a pick.
2. Sign Keith Kinkaid or Anders Nilsson
3. Sign Brian Boyle, and another veteran who can play center and wing (ideally Patrick Marleau).

I think it's time to get Gauthier his due. Gauthier can be a Brian Boyle for the Leafs and would be a lot more cheaper. I don't think Boyle is gonna demand a lot of money but I feel giving Gauthier is chance is better. Now I would not be upset at the least if Boyle came back for a good price.

Gauthier may be ready for sure. I don't think any of the defenseman prospects will get a full time spot on the roster, Rychel is a no for me, while Leipsic will only appear during injuries to other players.

After absolutely killing our cap space with the Marleau deal, Toronto needs to do a little house cleaning to get back under. This means a trade is on the horizon, I say JVR, what do you guys think?

Edit: actually with Lupul and Horton on the LTIR we might not be, I'm not totally sure.
