Not sure I'd take Lucic for that.

Flames fans need to start treating Valimaki as a toss in on deals, no team is chomping at the bit to give up assets for him.

2 things.

1. Lucic certainly wont need to be included as Calgary will probably have at least 5M in accrued cap space by the deadline
2. A 1st would 100% have to be included to get Bert

Tyler Toffoli cost Calgary a 1st, a 4th, a 5th and a good prospect.
Tyler Bertuzzi is better than Tyler Toffoli

You do your own math.

He's had a good enough camp to stay with the roster up until now so I would say they are pretty hesitant to place him on waivers at least

Toffoli came with 2.5 years of term. Those are not comparable

OP trade offer is subpar. I'd hate to trade Bert. But if Stevie gets a fair offer (like the Mantha for Vrana plus trade) then I can live with it. Flames would be the perfect fit for Bert and MIGHT get them over the hump in the playoffs.

I think Stevie is hesitant to give Bert the long term deal he wants. I'm guessing Stevie is good with 5 years and Bert wants 8. But that's just me reading in between the lines. I could be wrong.

Maybe they settle with 6 years? I'm guessing Stevie is trying to get Larkin signed first.

Or he has a 1.55M cap hit and if the Flames prolong sending him down as long as they can other teams will be right up against it with their opening night rosters and unwilling to put other pieces on waiver to claim him. It's been well handled for a guy that's had a pretty mediocre camp. He hasn't played since the road game in Edmonton a week ago and only played 13 minutes then, you have to think he will be the last cut as other teams set their cap compliant rosters.

Besides my new boxspring not being able to fit up the stairs it's gone great. Gotta get that returned

laugh You're not getting Bertuzzi 50% retained for that, Valimaki has little to no value. Lucic is negative value and a 2nd and 3rd round pick is nowhere near enough. It would cost the 2nd round pick alone just to take Lucic off your hands. Going rate for rentals at 50% retained is a roster/prospect and a 1st and 2nd round pick. Not a bunch of worthless pieces like Valimaki and Lucic.

Term Sperm. Artturi Lehkonen last year got a 1st round rated prospect and a 2nd as a UFA. He had a career best 31 pts. That's one off Bertuzzi's career best in goals. Bertuzzi is in his prime and easily pulling in a haul even as a UFA. Detroit is very happy to just re-sign Bertuzzi and that's the plan, If Detroit is trading away a very valuable member of the team they want the following:

CGY 2023 1st Round Pick
Jakob Pelletier
Adam Ruzicka
