NYI 2023 Cup Contenders

Created by: Frank_Smith
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 8, 2022
Published: Oct. 8, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
Additional Details:
NYI receive a much needed elite left d-man in Chychrun, who will help with Dobson's development by forming a great pairing on the blue line. Chychrun's leadership will also be of big help in the locker room, which will come in handy when Spring arrives.
ARI
  1. Räty, Aatu
  2. 2023 1st round pick (NYI)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
ARI receives a top prospect in Aatu Räty, solidifying their prospect pool at Center with Barrett Hayton already on the way. Late 1st round pick in a very solid draft and a 2nd round pick in next year's draft help seduce GM Bill Armstrong into making the deal.
2.
NYI
  1. Pitlick, Rem
  2. 2023 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
NYI receives Rem Pitlick, late bloomer who proved his worth after getting claimed late last year by the Habs. Will help solidify middle-6, whether LW or RW.
MTL
  1. Dufour, William
Additional Details:
MTL receives a hometown boy and good player in Dufour, adding to their blossoming prospects pool.

Agreed, he is not a bad player but rather a frustrating player. If he would should the puck more and play a little more physical the guy has the talent to be a very good player.

I’ve actually liked him this preseason lol. Doesn’t mean much, but I think having Romanov and Salo should fix most of his issues lol.

Raty is more valuable than Chychrun in my opinion. Dude is built different.

Agreed, The islanders D is already good enough trading your young C for Chychrun really doesn't make much sense right now.

Has an edge on Beauvillier

You like Pitlick more than Isles fans do. Keep him and everyone is happy

This dude must be trolling lmao. I would take Pitlick over Soshnikov, but that’s about it.

You clearly don’t follow the isles if you think pitlick has th edge on Beauvillier lol. He’s on the isles top line and has been the isles best two way forward over the past 5 years

Would like to get Dufour. If the Isles want Pitlick, we could probably add another prospect like Struble or Kidney to get the deal done.

I also agree that Pitlick is a late bloomers and should be playing in the top 9. The good news is, so is Jake Evans so the two of them should score in bunches against the players they are gonna see this year.

The isles have no interest in trading their top prospects for bottom 6 players.

But the Isles do not want Pitlick, that has been the whole discussion so why would the Isles downgrade a prospect for a player they do not want.

Why wouldn't they want pitlick specifically? Isles need speedy middle-6 wingers

Because he does not replace anyone in the top 6, or even the top 9.

The Isles already have 14 forwards on the NHL roster.

And the Isles are higher on Dufor as a prospect then adding another bottom 6 forward to the team.

Regarding the other trade this is completely false "Chychrun's leadership will also be of big help in the locker room, which will come in handy when Spring arrives." When the Isles have a roster of players that are leaders.

The main point is the isles are pretty far from Stanley cup contenders; certainly not by next year

What's wrong with having too much leadership? You're just trying to argument for no reason at this point lol

It's not an argument, it is calling out the false narrative.
