Description

1. Put MacDonald and Sedlak on waivers to get cap/roster flexibility by gaining the ability to yo-yo them with paper transactions once the season starts to bank as much cap space as possible on non-gamedays.

2. Re-claim JoJo and assign him to the Eagles when Arizona waive him, which they will do since they now have Ingram.

Who JoJo? If they don’t play him 10 games and put him on waivers COL can just claim him and send him down, he would have to make it to them. At least I think so.

I think you are going to see a lot of paper transactions by the Avs, heck you might even see Byram and Newhook since they are waiver exempt.

No he would still have to be placed on waivers to go to the minors. Colorado can claim him and loan him out without waivers though

Incorrect, it a player is waived prior to the 10 games 30 days the original team can reclaim him and instantly assign them to the minors

This scenario happened fairly recently, believe it was also a goalie.

Interesting idea. You could include Meyers in that too since he's also waivers exempt. Are there are any permutations effecting their bonuses or salary that would preclude them from wanting to do that?

Seems MacDonald is on Season Opening IR according to capfriendly's Twitter, so that's some extra room for accruing. I was surprised that they seemingly kept him up as it would make more sense to bank as much cap space as possible early on.
