If I’m the jets, I’d rather just keep PLD as an own rental or sell him to the highest bidder. Not much value coming back here to make us choose mtl

Setting aside how crazy it is to think of boston and montreal making a trade, why don’t you go take a look at the left side of Boston’s D and try to justify them trading a first round pick for that position.

Boston has 5 LD under contract next year. 4 of them making 3m+. They need to move 2 maybe 3 of them. They don’t need to add any and have much greater need for the 1st and better uses for it.

First off - thanks for the response!

I agree with you as of right now, But let's say Anderson has 25 goals and 55 points and Dvorak has 20 goals and 50 points this year, which I think is realistic. I think it raises their value don't you?

Don't forget that unfortunately he's made it public that he'd like to play at home. I don't think you'll get as much value as you think, and with the cap going up again in 2024 and 2025 all the way to 92 million, these deals are going to start to look cheap.

OK, fair enough. I was just thinking Boston boy comes home. Great story. Totally fair to say that I did not do the research.

Appreciate the response. I did not look into their depth at LHD. I just know that if he didn't sign with the Habs he would've signed in Boston. He's gonna be a heck of a player, just keep an eye out for him this year.

I don’t think its any guarantee that he’s a legit NHLer

PLD is under team control until the end of 2023-24. So for 2024-25 (the season for this ACGM), just sign him as a UFA on July 1st and keep the other pieces.

The Jets won't want Anderson or Dvorak in the summer of 2023, so if you want PLD then then you'll have to get him to wherever he has been traded to.

I bet a team would be willing to move a 1st and a prospect for Dubois. That’s more valuable to me than Dvorak and anderson.

Goalies are impossible to predict id trade garand for a first in a heartbeat

Zero chance Winnipeg moves Dubois for a cap dump and an average bottom sixer.

How many starting goalies do you need anyway?

I think that's fair right now. This is all based on a hypothetical 2 years from now. I may as well be trading for McDavid.

We'll see what happens this season. I think he get's traded in the offseason or signs a big deal to stay.

What are you gonna do with him. Platoon him with your young Vezina goalie?

It's called a cheap back up goalie for a few years, which the Rangers will need after this season.

That's why I sent Primeau as a part of the package. He may be a starter, he may not, but he's definetly got what it takes to play backup in the NHL...

Garand will be an excellent back-up and then a starter elsewhere, so why trade him? Get 2 or more years of him at a low cost, then trade him. Teams in the playoff hunt need strong back up goaltending and the next 3 years is the Rangers best shot with Shesterkin signed cheap.
