Disclaimer: I don't think Ottawa should do this, but its an interesting idea to go all in this year.

Team looks good. I assume Chicago would want one more of your high end prospects added to the package. This would be fun for sure.

I have Ottawa in the number 3 spot in the East right now. 3-5 are close in my mind. I have Ottawa, Boston, Florida (in that order). With these additions they would be dangerous!

Hawks don't do that. And Sens don't want to be so close to the cap with bonuses to pay which would decrease their cap in 23/24.

Because not enough value?
The bonuses are a couple million below the threshold for a penalty even if we were exactly at the cap.

I would think you are 1 good prospect off (between the 2 trades).

Based on where Ottawa is in terms of their building status, I personally wouldn't trade all those assets for a pending UFA. Murphy would be interesting though. I believe he is a tough defensive top 4 dman, if my knowledge is correct.

Murphy is a turnover machine who doesn’t hit anyone. He’s only a top 4 D if you’re getting Bedard jerseys ready to sell.

That has to be the most ill informed opinion I have ever heard on this website.

Maybe the team that was caught ignoring sexual misconduct and sanctioned for it doesn't take a risk on a player implicated in another sexual assault...

Murphy is awful. It’s not a opinion. It’s a fact.

Will there really be a team ready to give up that much for a UFA to be? I'm guessing this is assuming that a reasonable extension would already be in place?

That's basically 3 first round picks

Ostapchuk will most likely be the Sens best prospect once Sanderson/Pinto/Greig graduate. He is poised for a major breakout

It would be a pretty stupid move to make for Ottawa, add scoring to a team that doesn't need to add scoring and go all-in majorly when they haven't even sniffed the playoffs yet.
