Not even close, throw in Zucker and Coyle then it's closer. Tavares is a top 10 player in this league. I have no idea why so many people are convinced they'll get him for pennies on the dollar. He has a NTC and any team he agrees to be traded to will obviously sign him to an extension

"For pennies and dollars" do you see what they offered him? So let me get this straight you think one year of Tavares is worth coyle, brodin, granlund, and zucker?! Even as a sign and trade this is a decent trade for the isles but to ask for four players just for Tavares four main players on min is a lot to ask man

I think it is necessary to sign someone from the UFA of LHD defenders

I agree, maybe a bottom pair guy that could make popcorn.

I'd do the lines differently, but there are so many possible combos with this lineup it's a minor thing.

Signing an ineffective Ryan White makes little sense with Tuch, Kunin, Schroeder and Graovac already under the cap. That Hanzal/White trade was arguably the worst trade in franchise history and everyone would love to just move on. If your signing either of them... I'm signing Hanzal but there is no cap space and he wants long term. The only player I'm giving long term in this UFA class is Oshie.

Plus, Tavares is a good player don't get me wrong... but with Eriksson Ek, Kunin coming as future 1,2 centers I doesn't make a lot of sense to create a logjam especially with Koivu being a UFA next year. Wild need scoring on the wings, not more defensive centers. Brass also wants Coyle at center long term from what I've heard from Russo.

That's a lot to put on a couple of mid-round 1sts saying they'll be a 1/2 center punch for the future. Granlund was supposed to be the 1C of the future too. Tavares is already an elite 1C, whom is relatively young still.

Wild don't need more scoring wings, they need an elite scoring wing. Parise, Zucker, Granny, Nino, and Coyle are all 20g+ wings. Pommer and Stewie can chip in 10-15g a year.

In movie terms the Wild have the director (BB), supporting cast, Suter and Dub are good co-starts, but are missing the star of the show. The Wild been trying to make a movies with Steven Seagal quality as the star.
