If Brown was a 3mil forward he'd still be in Ottawa. He's gonna be at least a 5mil guy, unless he lays an egg in Washington

i cant see him asking for 5m. 3.75 max imo, if thats the case we just sign kampf, 2.5x4, slide jarnkrok to LW

If Murray ends up being the starter or an adequate enough 1B, they probably trade Samsonov to somewhere where he can be a starter rather than pay him 3m.

Also, trading Nylander to leave cap space for Matthews is probably setting up the team to pay him and Marner like 38% of the cap.

Would be surprised if Brown signs a 9m contract.

I think you're misunderstanding how much that kind of money means to a player in Michael Bunting's position. Most players as good as Bunting have made like 10x what he has by the time they are his age. Relative to other NHLers he's a broke ****

Very true, and with taxes in Toronto he’d bring in 50% of that amount. That being said it’s up to him, I would understand if he decides to chase the bag like Campbell/Hyman did, they have a very short window to set themselves and their family for life, if I was in his position I would do the same.

355 hits & playing 18 mins a night while being very strong defensively is far from garbage, money might be high but we need to attract him to Toronto. He’d be our sheriff too which increases his value.

I’m not in touch with Muzzin on a regular basis but I think he’d prefer a partner that could skate & pass. Even at league min - I wouldn’t have him but agree to disagree - it’s opening night squinty smile . Go Leafs Go!
