Personally i would really want to trade johansen. I just think everyone is going to demand a payment for joey and i dont want to deal with that. Kindof wanted to try something different. We've got alot of young wingers and while none are jeannot , with the dismantling of the beast line you can have a purely defensive 4th line.

Depending on how their seasons go, I think Johansen, Duchene, or Granlund could bring value back this summer. Any of them frees up enough cap for an RFA raise or two, and moving one frees up a roster spot for one of the prospects who'll need one sooner than later.

Another trade candidate for next summer that doesn't get talked about is Ekholm. If you look at the defensemen who'll be hitting the UFA market after this season, it's a very weak class. And that's before some of them inevitably get re-signed before then. I think there could be a strong market for him, especially if he has a strong season playing on the right side this year.

I feel like if they move any of their RFA D men it’ll be Fabbro.

Problem with duchene is that if he repeats last season trading him would be a mistake.

Granlund would be easier than joey to trade but doesnt open as much as as joey does. Even if we ship out granlund, i dont know if we could get carrier and jeannot signed for less than 7 million which is about what youd have to do to be able to maintain a 22 player roster. Itd be tight

I dont talk about trading ekholm much because hes a steady defensive dman when we have mostly offensive dmen. Im definitely open to trading him though

I personally think fabbro is stronger defensively than carrier even though the two are used fairly interchangeably by hynes.
