Team: 2022-23 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 13, 2022
Published: Oct. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This would suuuuuuck for about 2-3 years, before the Lekkerimaki, Öhgren and Östlund line is warmed up. But once they are, oooooh Nelly.

All of this on the the rather sizeable caveat that those teams would agree to these trades.

i mean if i were those others team then i would accept them all. Not sure if the wild have the cap space tho. Bedard/Michkov/Fantilli would be nice fits too

I'm sure they can make room to get Vrana for barely anything. I think detroit can get more for him and Larkin

We don't - I like Vrana, but with S&P buyouts, Wild need the Kirkland version of Vrana. Can't afford the primo brands right now.

These trades are not dreams but nightmares for Detroit. Trading three proven very good NHL'ers for 3 unproven prospects. None of which are guaranteed to be any better than the players they're being traded even if they pan out...Ohgren, Ostlund and Lekkerimaki may one day be good NHL'ers but they're not going to be superstars. If they one day become Larkin, Copp and Vrana that'd be the best possible outcome and Detroit would be exactly where they are today in 3 years time...

The only bright side of these trades is it would guarantee Detroit one of Bedard, Michkov, Fantilli

Agreed the Wild just had to trade an 85 point player because we couldn't afford him. I don't see the Wild making this trade.

You’re definitely dreaming with the Sabres trade
Laughable

A decent 3rd liner isn’t worth a guy we just drafted 16th in the 1st round

Zero chance dude- none

Detroit passes on all 3 trades.

Copp doesn't waive for Buffalo.

We're not trading Vrana just yet.

Larkin doesn't waive for Vancouver, And if we wanted Lekkerimaki we would've just drafted him.

The only problem is when it comes to the lottery keeping the spot they finished the season in is a BIG WIN, falling back is the norm and moving up just doesn't happen.

Especially since Vrana's G/60 in all situations was 2nd best to only Matthews.

I don't see why Buffalo would want to do that. Maybe if Copp was 3-5 years younger

I don't think the sabres would do that. Not that it is unfair just because copp blocks playing time for younger players and he doesn't fit our window.

What would the Canucks do with Larkin? We have Pettersson Miller and Horvat

To clarification on this trade- These three young gents have a history with playing with each other in the juniors WC so they know each other well and are great together.
