Mike Grier has traded away a big part of their defense and got nothing in return. He's going to get the brunt of it, but he really shouldn't because that team was built terribly anyways.

Also retained a decent amount on a longer contract

Grier has nothing to do with the play. Lack of effort, lapses in judgement, lose of compete after something goes wrong.

Karlsson started off red hot, got left out to dry a few times. Kahkonen didn’t even have a team last night… again.. he keeps getting hung out to try and every start of his. Every single start of his.

Ima be honest i was gonna pick him for a coaching opening i just forgot his name. So i like that pick!

Also imo i think the Sharks should be heading torwards a rebuild and a young up and coming coach would be beneficial.

What do we blame it on? He shouldn't get the blame, but he's the GM who can change the team and coach.

I mean right now you blame it on the players but you could include the lack of offensive talent without a proper D core to boot. But he inherited the team.

I noted the other week; I think Grier is perfectly content with quietly tanking.

Team looks broke right now? Or maybe it’s perfectly fine. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it (if we’re tanking). A clear indication (if we’re reading the tea leaves) of the quiet tanking is how immensely strong the Cuda are. By mid year with some healthy players and strong showings;

Eklund - Agozzino - Reedy (2 NHLers)
Gushchin - Bordeleau - Coe (1 NHLer and 2 borderlines)
Veronneau - Robins - Ozzy (1 borderline nhler, 1 prospect)
Viel - Weatherby - Raska (3 borderline NHLers)
Johnson Suess

Cicek - Merkley (1 nhler, 1 borderline)
Kniazev - Sieloff (1 borderline)
Hatakka - Onyabuechi (1 borderline)
Pouliot

Dell/ Mann/ Makiniemi (2 great prospect goalies)

I would take;
(AHL kids)
Lindblom - Bordeleau - Reedy
Gadjovich - Weatherby/ Strum - Viel/ Strum/ Weatherby
Viel/ Gregor

Over (our NHL bottom 6)
Lindblom - Bonino - Nieto
Gadjovich - Strum - Svech
Gregor

But here we are. So I think we’re tanking.

1. I agree I think Ruff will be fired some point this season I just think the replacement is dumb, Brunette clearly can’t coach
2. How Eakins even has a job right now is crazy enough
3. I think your situation makes sense but I don’t see any interm the sens hire for the season keep they’re job at the end of the season
4. Honestly Hakstol wasn’t good choice from the start
5. You rarely see coaches get fired after one season on the job
6. I think Laviolette will be gone mid season

For the sens i dont think they keep the interim coach at the end of the season just dont see them hiring a new coach right away. I expect a interim tag being slapped on someone.
I think the sharks season will just be to miserable not to fire him. I know its rare but that team has to start getting younger Eklund should be playing.
Also disagree with the assesment of Bruno

He’s one of the laziest players I’ve ever watched, even going back to his Florida days.

And people are still defending him... Rem was scratched last night and somehow Dadonov and Hoffman both got promotions

Hoffman to MTL was one of the most head scratching decisions by a GM. Like you just gave the guy free cash. No way in hell he didn’t jump out of his seat at the TERM/AAV when it was accepted/ offered by GMMB

they should've fired him in the offseason. they literally punted the season away by decided to keep him around. the goaltending is still as awful as ever but what's more concerning is that hughes has looked TERRIBLE. how many times do i need to keep bashing my head in to convince myself that i'm not delusionally cheering for a poverty franchise?

Hughes was electric last night. His line mates simply can't keep up with him. He had 7 SOG with several Grade-A scoring chances, but nobody to pass the puck to. He needs to be playing with Bratt and Yegor immediately. Lindy's line combos are an absolute joke.

Bergevin was desperate because we lost Danault + Tatar and there were no replacements. Embarassing of a move
